I am ROSE - Mandy Brooke
We are thrilled to introduce you to Mandy Brooke. Perhaps you've already had the pleasure of discovering Mandy through her ingenious parody songwriting and captivating performances, which have propelled her from the realms of Instagram and TikTok to prestigious platforms like The Today Show with Hoda and Jenna, and collaborations with shows such as The Voice.
Mandy is a true polymath, celebrated for her talents as a singer, songwriter, actress, and comedian. But what makes Mandy so enjoyable to watch and get to know, is her unique ability to harness her artistic prowess and life experiences to evoke genuine, laugh out loud joy. Maybe even when you need it most. Through her songwriting and performing, she fearlessly highlights everyday insecurities, beckoning us to come out of hiding and shine our own light, much like she does.
Our attraction to Mandy extends beyond her talent; it's rooted in a shared philosophy of optimism, resilience, and perpetual growth. Yi and I, were immediately drawn to Mandy's infectious attitude and were eager to delve deeper into her inspiring story. So, join us on this journey as we shine a spotlight on the incredible woman that is Mandy Brooke.
sRg: Thank you so much for doing this with us! Before we dig in, our readers would like to get to know you a bit. Can you please share with us a little about your path and what contributes to the woman you are today?
MB: Thank you for having me! Gosh, my path has been one of many twists and speed bumps! But I’ve embraced becoming the main character of my life, and enjoying those weird plot twists. I’ve allowed myself to become more playful, confident, and manifest my deepest desires. It’s a large part of who I am today.
But it was a long road to get there... I’ve been writing songs and performing professionally since I was 14. I moved to Nashville after high school with a publishing deal and a fierce passion for music! But after 10 years of some success, hard knocks, and a divorce, I moved back to my hometown to pick up the pieces. Up until that point, I had always taken my life and career so seriously. So, I let go of the reins and in between delivering bread (for Dutch Oven Bread Co.) and crying in my car, I started creating parodies and recording my weird antics to make myself laugh! After posting them publicly, I gained a large following of (mostly) women who connected to my relatable sense of humor. After a year of consistent work and dedication, I have traveled the world, created a podcast, and cultivated a community of people who connect to the rawness of life! I’m so proud of how far I’ve come, and there’s still so much more I want to accomplish!
sRg: A one liner that would best describe you is...?
MB: Be a f***ing delight, betch!
sRG: Ha! Yes, we can all adopt that as we step out the door!
When did you first know you were creative?
MB: I’ve never known a time when I wasn’t creating fictional worlds or writing songs! Creativity connects me to my highest self.
sRg: There was an immediate reaction to your song writing and performing on social media, what was your reaction to this medium taking off?
MB: My reaction was one of utter joy and terror! But I think that's pretty normal when you gain millions of views practically overnight! Now I’m just thankful I get to create and raise the vibrations of the world in my own way.
sRg: Your attitude and presence bring laugh out loud joy! Was does humor mean to
you? Did you find your creative purpose changing over the last year?
MB: Humor means everything to me! Humor gets me through mental breakdowns and debilitating anxiety. But humor can also be a vehicle for spreading important messages. My ultimate goal is to help people manifest their deepest desires and become more confident in their lives from a place of humor and play! I’m currently working on a project that will do just that so stay tuned!
sRg: OH YES! We can't wait! Ok moving on to a some fashion - You often post wearing gloves, sunglasses, hat or scarf. Have accessories always been part of your style or more so now part of relaying your message or both?!
MB: I’ve been wearing scarves, gloves and hats since I was a little girl! Now that I’m in my 30’s, I wear these items for a more practical reason; to avoid sun exposure. I want to age gracefully, and living in Florida under the harsh sunlight doesn't do my skin any favors! It’s so funny when I’m recognized in public because people often say, “Oh my gosh, you really DO wear gloves! It’s not just an act!” It’s truly part of my everyday style. And I love normalizing sun protection.
sRg: You often speak about having an abundance mindset. What does it mean to live with an abundance mindset?
MB: We don’t attract what we WANT, we attract what we ARE. And once I understood that, I was able to align my thoughts toward a state of abundance rather than a place of lack. Abundance doesn’t just mean money! It’s about embracing EVERY blessing, no matter how big or small, with immense amounts of gratitude.
Gratitude is the way to open the gates of abundance... it’s the key to aligning your frequency with positive outcomes... it’s the main component of manifesting... It's the first step in creating magic in your life!
sRg: It's so important to have this perspective, it can change how you approach everything! In addition to the abundance mindset, you speak of something we also feel strongly about at See ROSE Go, feminine power. We love the way you highlight women living without inhibition and embracing their power, what are your top three tips to embrace feminine energy?
MB: “How to Embrace Your Feminine Energy” has been my most downloaded podcast episode to date! I definitely suggest listening to it for more tea! My top 3 tips for embracing your feminine energy are living playfully, showing gratitude, and leaning back energetically. I think feminine energy often gets misconstrued as weakness, and that couldn’t be further from the truth! If you’re a feminine-leading person, you have a POWER unlike any other. And when wielded correctly, it can change the course of history. LITERALLY. I mean, look at Mark Antony and Cleopatra!
