Perfect for our rainy spring

I was a little hesitant to buy a rain coat so late in the season, but we've had the rainiest April in recent history and May is just continuing the trend. So I have worn this coat for 5 out of 7 days per week for the last 5 weeks...and it is a winner! The fabric is synthetic, but has a very nice hand feel, esp when on the body; and it keeps me dry during my light to medium rain dog-walks. The cut is more fashion-y than the technical, basic raincoats I see all over town, so I definitely feel more put together while wearing it. I think the fit is generous - I am between 3 and 4 and picked a 4...I probably could have sized down, but the cinch waist makes it easy to adjust and I don't have to worry about it being too snug if I add extra layers underneath. Speaking of the waist - the attached belt with elastic in the back is genius. I never have to worry about the belt sliding around or getting detached from one side (a pet peeve). The only change I'd make is to increase the sleeve length; I'd like them to be longer to cover shirt-cuffs. Bought the poppy red - but I think the tan would be a good year round color as well if I wanted a more minimalist look.
