How to Pack for a Summer Weekend Getaway

How to Pack for a Summer Weekend Getaway

Summer thoughts are filled with day dreams of fun in the sun, family and friend visits and travel! Summer plans usually include the wonderful weekend getaway. According to The Verge technical publication, Airbnb reports a surge in demand for local stays compared to the earlier years showing most people are looking for local stays, AKA the weekend getaway.

Weekend getaways are just magical. They give us a break from our home, which have been serving on all fronts these days; work, eat, sleep, gym, coffee shop - you know it.  Our homes are on overdrive and the weekend getaway is just the thing to hit refresh. A true escape keeps it simple.  When it comes to packing we tend to bring more than we need. Especially in packing plus size clothing where traditionally options have a very specific style use, an item is for either dressy or very casual. This makes it difficult for women wearing a plus size to pack light. The key to minimal packing is to have versatile pieces that can go from morning to night and easily transition into any situation. Pairing down is a tough task but we are here for you! Below we’ve listed our See ROSE Go pieces that are priority numero uno for weekend travel multi-purpose dressing AND easy care. We’ve also polled the office for some of our favorite brands to bring along.

1. A White T-Shirt

A classic white t-shirt is the blank canvas of wardrobe essentials. You want a tee that can work seamlessly from mornings at the pool to evenings paired with earrings, skirt and sandals. Our Cooling T-Shirt packs the most punch for any vacation wardrobe. Especially with it’s reversible neckline: double duty wear it as a crew neck T-shirt or as a V-neck t-shirt!Its cooling, anti-pilling, comfortable and adaptably style all in one piece. The stunning functionality of this tee fabric sets this tee above all others. As one customer puts it …. “Traveling through foreign airports, cramming into crowded subway cars with no a/c, and lugging my luggage up and down endless stairs at train stations makes me sweaty…Not so with this tee!"

The not-so-secret-secret to minimalist weekend packing is to style repeat the clothes you’ve packed! The real trick is to chose your styles wisely and effectively, calculate your wear and create multiple looks. One simple rule to follow - if you can’t get more than 3-5 looks from a single style. Don’t invest your time or money in it. Investing in pieces that offers an abundance of looks in any situation will ultimately translate into a more minimalist, chic and effortless wardrobe for vacation and back home too.

Happy Weekending and Beyond :)
